Idaho Conference on Alcohol & Drug Dependency (ICADD)

The annual Idaho Conference on Alcohol and Drug Dependency (ICADD) took place in May at Boise State University. ODP was proud to attend and host a table during the conference, which featured insightful keynote speakers and a wide range of breakout sessions focused on substance use prevention and behavioral health.

Prevention Track Highlights

  • One-Up, One-Down: The Ethics of Mutual Respect in Therapy- Calvin Armerding, MA, LPC-S shared insights on building egalitarian relationships in therapeutic settings, offering a valuable reminder to prevention professionals about meeting people where they are with humility and respect.
  • Screenagers: Under the Influence– Lisa Tabb screened her film addressing youth substance use in the digital age and presented evidence-based strategies for educators, families, and communities to support healthy decision-making.
  • Liquid Normalcy- Morgan Proud, MPH explored how alcohol use is normalized in military culture and how it contributes to substance misuse among service members.
  • Jewels and Science of Prevention in Pop Culture– Cedric Hall session focused on digital self-presentation and advocacy. Participants learned to analyze media messages, craft effective communication, and build skills that support youth in post-secondary success.
