Speak Out/Opt Out/ Throw Out
ODP created the Speak Out/Opt Out/Throw Out campaign to raise awareness about the risks of opioid dependency and misuse. The goal of the campaign is to educate Idahoans and arm them with the information and knowledge to:
- Speak out about the risks of opioid misuse
- Know what questions to ask your healthcare provider to know your personal risks of developing an opioid dependency and the options if you choose to opt-out of receiving or using an opioid prescription
- Throw out unused, expired, or unneeded prescriptions by properly disposing of them during National Prescription Drug Take Back Day or at a permanent prescription drug disposal location
The campaign included a number of print resources, including educational brochures on prescription opioids, regional rack cards with the permanent prescription drug disposal locations in each area, informational handouts, posters, and more.
These resources can be ordered for free online from the Idaho Regional Alcohol Drug Awareness Resource (RADAR) Center. To place an order, click here.
